Exercise Machines No Longer Just for The Gym

The very thought of exercise machines can make alot of people cringe. When the doctor says, "you have got to lose weight buy an exercise machine," can seem like he or she just asked you to buy an iron maiden or some other medieval torture device. This may have been a bit more true a few years back. But, with new technology exercise machines have evolved with the changing times.

Those tight abs, those svelte arms--okay back to reality. If someone wants to enjoy the admiration of firm, taut muscles mechanical weight equipment is the way to go. Mechanical weights as opposed to just lifting weights can achieve a tighter, leaner, and more sculpted physique or figure. Ordinary dumbbells have their place, yet mechanical weight equipment can firm like no other exercise equipment. In the olden, not so golden days of exercise people had to drive to the gym to utilize mechanical weight equipment. Now there are a whole host of weight equipment from infomercials, Internet ads, and sports magazines. Gravity is the strongest force used in building muscle with mechanical weight equipment. Ah, the comfort of firming up in the comfort of one's own home. Not to mention not having to wait in line behind sweaty exercisers!

Treadmills have been around for home use for many years now. They have went through an evolutionary process like all other forms of exercise equipment. Many home treadmills regulate heart rate, pulse, level of exertion, have magazine  racks, and some others come equipped with small televisions.

Elliptical equipment is becoming very popular both at the gym and for home use. An elliptical merges the benefits of a treadmill with the rigorous activity of stair climbing. Limbs move in an elliptical style while exercising. It makes for a fun and intense workout. Ellipticals are easier on joints and provide a low impact experience that still gives a thorough workout.
